Being a student isn't always easy. Every person has their strengths
and weaknesses. Some students just have a knack for succeeding academically.
Matthew Uhlenkott of Aurora,
Colorado was one of the students
who were gifted with a talent for meeting academic challenges. He also had the
determination and dedication to see himself through medical school in order to
become an anesthesiologist.
Matthew Uhlenkott of Aurora,
Colorado earned scholarships from
the beginning of his academic career. In 2001, he was the recipient of both the
University Upper-class Scholarship and the University Upper-class Science
Scholarship. His academic grades helped him earn the scholarships again in
2002, 2003, and 2004. In 2004, he graduated summa cum laude and was named Who's
Who Among Students in American
Universities &
Colleges.
In order to become a doctor though, Matthew Uhlenkott of Aurora, Colorado
needed more than four years of medical school. Continuing his education, he
easily earned the Washington State Employees Credit Union Scholarship in 2005,
along with the University
of Washington Geriatric Scholarship.
He earned the scholarship not only because of his grades, but because he
qualified for the scholarship by his area of study.
The last two scholarships Matthew Uhlenkott of Aurora, Colorado
earned as a student were repeated three years in a row. From 2006 to 2008,
Matthew Uhlenkott of Aurora,
Colorado earned the Bank of
America Medical Endowed Scholarship and the America Medical Association
Foundation's WWAMI Scholarship.
